My training was originally in Theatrical Design, so much of my work has to do with fantasy and costume. However I think in three dimensions. So I have moved into area of ceramic sculpture.

I work mainly in stoneware clays - which are fired to a high
temperatures making the work suitable for both indoors and outside.
I like what the combination of the firing and the clay can produce, so
I
do not glaze any of my work, but use mixture of clays, and oxides to
get different colours and combinations of colour. I draw my inspiration
from people, animals and plants

Every item will be individual, because it is handmade. I can, if requested make similar pieces, but they will never be exactly the same as any other

I LOVE THE CHALLENGE OF A PERSONAL COMMISSION
When commissioned, I will generally make some preliminary sketches for the client - and then agree size clay and price. Commissions can take from 3 - 8 weeks to complete, depending on the size of the piece, its complexity, and the weather. I take a 50% deposit before starting the work.
